Job Description

The Black Belt will be responsible for leading and executing multiple projects across Tenneco’s Non-Manufacturing Business Operations. This role will be responsible for enabling new capabilities within the Tenneco Business Systems and optimizing operational cost.

• Execute multiple Six Sigma projects per year, within Tenneco’s Non-Manufacturing Business Operations such as HR, IT, Legal, and Finance.
• Translate business processes to measurable transfer functions that model the effect of Continuous Improvement relative to business results.
• Synthesize data and information from several different sources to develop business cases for change with a quantifiable business impact.
• Black Belts will be adept at managing risks, setting direction, supporting identification and definition of new projects, seeking out and piloting new tools and solving problems to achieve Tenneco's process improvement goals. 
• Provide Continuous Improvement methodology (DMAIC, 8D, Kepner Tregoe, and LEAN), coaching and training to project teams who are participating in process improvement projects. 
• Be able to work both independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams in the identification, research and implementation of process improvements. 
• Manage internal process improvement projects with team members who work across global functions to provide and implement standard systems, best business practices (ie. policies, processes, and procedures).

Required Qualifications:

• Black Belt certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in leading and executing Continuous Improvement projects.
• Understanding of enterprise business processes, industry best practices, concepts, and Continuous Improvement methodology (DMAIC, 8D, Kepner Tregoe, and LEAN).
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Advance software skills required (Excel, Power Point, and Mini Tab).
• Demonstrated ability to lead and execute multiple projects across an organization.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive data based change throughout the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Power BI preferred
• PMP certification preferred
• Consulting experience preferred
