Job Description

Medical Director, Pulmonology (MD/DO)

Sinai Pulmonology Associates at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore

Sinai Hospital is Maryland's largest community hospital and a teaching hospital that trains more than 140 residents and 400 medical students each year. Sinai Pulmonology Associates is an established practice of 3 physicians and 2 nurse practitioners serving a growing patient population. As Medical Director of Pulmonology, you'll combine inpatient consults, outpatient care, and bronchoscopy with leadership of the pulmonary program, shaping how it grows and how patients across the region access lung care.

Why Join LifeBridge Health

  1. Step into physician leadership of a growing program, with leadership compensation on top of your clinical pay and room to decide where the program goes next
  2. Teach and mentor residents in Sinai's Internal Medicine Residency Program through our affiliation with George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, with opportunities for research and academic appointment
  3. Work alongside experienced physicians, nurse practitioners, and well-trained office staff on a rotation-based schedule
  4. Practice within LifeBridge Health, a five-hospital system including Sinai, Northwest, Carroll, Grace Medical Center, and Levindale, with the referral base and resources that come with that scale

About This Role

  1. Own the direction of the pulmonary program by setting strategic plans, quality metrics, and performance improvement goals that expand access and improve outcomes
  2. Build new outpatient services, including lung nodule, COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and sleep medicine programs
  3. Keep inpatient pulmonary care running smoothly by providing consults and partnering with ICU leadership on multidisciplinary critical care delivery
  4. Extend your procedural reach with bronchoscopy, plus EBUS and thoracentesis if desired
  5. Drive accountability for care quality by creating protocols and pathways that reduce unnecessary variation and promote appropriate use of testing and procedures
  6. Grow the team and referral network by recruiting physicians and APPs and strengthening relationships with primary care, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, cardiology, oncology, and thoracic surgery

Qualifications

  1. MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  2. Completion of a Pulmonary or Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship
  3. Board eligible or board certified in Pulmonary Disease
  4. Board certification in Critical Care Medicine preferred
  5. Unrestricted Maryland medical license, or eligibility to obtain one
  6. Active DEA and Maryland CDS registrations
  7. Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  8. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead within a multidisciplinary team

Benefits

  1. Base salary starting at $360,000, commensurate with experience
  2. Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and flexible spending accounts
  3. Retirement options including 403(b), 457(b) deferred compensation, and a pension plan
  4. Fully covered malpractice insurance and reimbursed licensing and credentialing fees
  5. $2,500 annual CME allowance
  6. Flexible PTO and free parking

Location

Sinai Hospital is in Baltimore, close to Chesapeake Bay, top-rated schools, with train access to Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and New York City and several international airports are nearby.
